We are a team of highly motivated scientists, which are working on setting up new instrumentation, cutting-edge experimental research and madvanced numerical modelling of our measurements.

If you are interested to work in a stimulating environment with people of different cultural backgrounds and are curious in exploring the physical phenomena in strongly correlated electron materials, we would be happy to talk to you.

Ideally, you have strong communication skills and a background in condensed matter physics.

Please also take a look at PhD projects of the group.

There are a number of funding routes for PhD studies:

  • Grant Family PhD Scholarships. Applications are sought for 2 PhD Scholarships to work in experimental studies of quantum materials within the Centre for Designer Quantum Materials at St Andrews, funded through the generosity of the Grant Family Physics Scholarships programme
  • The NextGenTech Centre for Doctoral Training
  • EPSRC doctoral studentship funding
  • The International Max Planck Research School for Chemistry and Physics of Quantum Materials
  • The China Scholarship Council, University of St Andrews Scholarships
    Project-related studentships
